City Year provides a postgraduate, gap-year opportunity for students interested in public service as an AmeriCorps member. City Year partners with public schools in 28 U.S. cities to help students graduate from high school and prepare for college or a career. Our AmeriCorps members work in schools full time, providing individualized support for students in grades 3-9 showing indications of being off track toward high school graduation. Benefits of serving a gap-year with City Year include a $5,775 education award, access to more than 100 Graduate School Scholarship Partnerships, and a biweekly stipend. You will spend a challenging year developing your leadership qualities, teamwork skills, and soft skills to bridge you to a career or graduate school.
