The Playshop Theatre announces its final production of the academic year: “Baby With the Bathwater,” by Christopher Durang, will be performed Thursday through Saturday, April 20-22 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 23, at 2:30 p.m. in the Gladys Mullenix Black Theatre in the Vukovich Center. The production is directed by Dan Crozier.

An outrageous take on the ultimate in bad parenting, this absurdist satire presents Helen and John, a couple who are completely unprepared for their first child. They cannot even decide if it’s a boy or girl–their doctor tells them they can choose later. New York Times critic Frank Rich wrote, “A playwright who shares Swift’s bleak view of humanity, Durang conquers bitterness and finds a way to turn rage into comedy that is redemptive as well as funny.”
