About the Projects
- The Robertson Athletic Complex is in the midst of a number of enhancements. On the current site of the women’s soccer game field, a new artificial turf competition field is being constructed. The field will feature an AstroTurf surface, as well as a Musco Lighting system to allow for night games and practices. The turf field will be equipped to handle competition for field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s lacrosse, and will include bleacher seating, a fully-wired press box, and a Daktronics scoreboard system.
- The most noticeable project is taking place on the Sports Forum level (Blue Courts), which is the most utilized facility on campus. Used throughout the year for indoor practice for nearly every varsity team, as well as student recreation and intramurals, the Blue Courts will undergo a complete resurfacing with the installation of a Mondo Super X Performance floor. The new flooring will offer unparalleled safety and comfort for all users, while improving upon the performance level for all users.
- Downstairs from the Blue Courts, the performance arena has received brand new wireless scoreboards and a new sound system. The main LED scoreboard measures approximately 17’ by 10’ and is located on the far wall in the same spot as the previous main scoreboard. The new auxiliary scoreboard, measuring approximately 10′ by 4′, remains on the end of the court nearest the locker rooms.
- Adjacent to the new turf field, a pair of natural grass playing surfaces are being constructed, one that will be used solely for soccer competition, and the other for practice. The sod competition field will also have spectator seating, a press box, and a Daktronics scoreboard, while the practice field will feature seeded grass with state-of-the-art drainage and irrigation systems.
- Also, at the Robertson Athletic Complex, the athletic training center and equipment/laundry room are also undergoing a complete makeover. Renovations of the training center will allow it to more than double in size, while the centralized equipment/laundry room has also been enlarged and will now be able to service all sports in one location.
