Many geology students have found a wealth of research opportunities close to our “home” in western Pennsylvania. Over a dozen students have worked with Professor Rachel O’Brien conducting research on the French Creek watershed. Other students have worked with Professor bob Schwartz and Ron Cole on research projects involving the sedimentary and tectonic evolution of the Appalachian Mountains and the adjacent foreland basin system. These projects often form the basis for senior projects and are typically multidisciplinary, integrating several fields of geology.
