“Disabled” account issue

On the morning of Friday, September 10, LITS received numerous reports of certain student accounts being disabled. Printing, WiFi, email, Google Workspace, Canvas, Self Service, and other Allegheny College services were affected by this outage.

We believe that the issue has been resolved. If any students are still receiving this error message, please alert the InfoDesk at 814-332-3768, or stop by the InfoDesk so we can help troubleshoot.

Resolved: Service Disruption May 5, 2021

On Wednesday morning, May 5, 2021, there was a temporary issue with the college’s authentication system (username and passwords) that caused some attempts to connect to college resources to respond with errors, in particular connecting to wireless networks. This issue was resolved shortly after it was discovered. Systems using Google authentication were not affected.

LITS thanks those in our campus community who alerted us to the issue.

Whenever you experience issues with logging into any Allegheny College system, please reach out to the InfoDesk via email at infodesk@allegheny.edu, or call 814-332-3768.

Google Meet Recordings

As we transition to permanently adopting enhanced Google Meet functionality, there is a slight possibility that Allegheny College accounts may temporarily lose the ability to record Meet sessions starting Thursday, October 1, until we can complete this transition. LITS is working diligently to minimize any potential disruption and will post updates as they become available.

In the event that Meet recording capability is disrupted, faculty are encouraged to reach out to the InfoDesk at infodesk@allegheny.edu to discuss possible workarounds until Meet recording capability can be fully restored.
