Google Cloud Print Discontinued

As of January 1, 2021, Google Cloud Print is longer supported by Google. Devices across all operating systems will no longer be able to print using Google Cloud Print.

If you have been using Google Cloud Print to print on campus at Allegheny from your personal device, LITS recommends that you instead use Mobility Print to print from the campus Release Printers. You can read more about Mobility Print and the Release Printers on our Printing on Campus page.

Please note that you must be on the campus network (either via wifi or with a wired connection) to install or use Mobility Print. Work computers on campus have already been set up with Mobility Print.

If you have any questions about printing, please contact the InfoDesk.

PaperCut Printing

Over Winter break, LITS updated the PaperCut software that administers printing all over campus.

Anyone using a Mac computer should visit the InfoDesk in Pelletier, or open a Web Help Desk ticket, and LITS staff will work with you to update the PaperCut client on your Mac.

Windows 10 PCs will need to reboot to reconnect to the print server. Some Windows 10 PCs may need to have the PaperCut client uninstalled and reinstalled.

If you have any questions, please contact the InfoDesk at x3768.

Ability to log in to the wireless network
Door Access (in a few locations)
WebAdvisor
Printing
Colleague UI (not core database server)
Informer
Synoptix
Bookstore Services
GIS

This is not an exhaustive list.  There may be other services affected by this outage not listed here.

Scheduled Network Outage

Beginning at 3 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, LITS will be conducting scheduled maintenance on the Allegheny College network infrastructure. Work is expected to be completed by 6 a.m.

During this maintenance, internet services across campus will frequently be unavailable for extended periods. This will affect both wired and wireless networks. Most campus phone systems will also be unavailable during these interruptions.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of the campus community during this necessary maintenance.

Printing Disruption Tuesday June 25th

System maintenance taking place on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 25th will cause a brief disruption in which printing will be unavailable. This disruption should last no longer than 15 – 30 minutes.

If anyone is unable to print for longer than the time expected, please contact the InfoDesk for support at 814-332-3768.
