Interested in learning more about our eight-week, four-credit global health internship program in Moldova next summer? You are invited to a lunchtime informational session on Thursday, September 13, in Carr 238, from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. In addition to a slide presentation introducing Moldova and the program, there will be students from previous programs available to answer questions.

A former Soviet republic, Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe and faces many public health challenges: infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, addictions, environmental health issues, rural health care delivery, and others. This makes for many internship possibilities in a country which – culturally, politically and in terms of its health system – is intriguingly different from the United States. Students begin with an intensive two-week course on all aspects of Moldovan health before embarking on six-week internships chosen from a variety of organizations in areas of public health, health education, mental health, children with disabilities, care for the elderly, environmental health, rural health, and others. Students may earn 4 transferable credits.
