Allegheny College faculty are invited to apply to be a Mellon Periclean Faculty Leader (PFL) in the Humanities. As a Mellon PFL in the Humanities, the faculty member will design, teach, and assess the outcomes of a new or significantly revised course in the humanities (to be taught in 2021-2022) that incorporates a community-based project. The course will be developed in collaboration with a community partner. Tenure, tenure-track, and full-time faculty who are expected to be at the institution beyond 2022 are eligible to apply. The course should address one or more of the following grand challenges: Climate Change, Education Access, Immigration, Mass Incarceration, Race and Inequality, and Voter Engagement. To apply or for more information, contact Dave Roncolato (droncola@allegheny.edu). Applications are due to him by February 21.
