Due to COVID-19, the Art Department is hosting an online version of the Annual Student Art Show. We invite students to submit entries electronically for our Doane Art prizes and the Juror’s Prize, all of which receive a monetary award and a book selected by the Art Department faculty. The show will be curated from the award winners and select, outstanding entries exhibited on the gallery website and instagram: www.alleghenyartgalleries.com and @alleghenycollegeartgalleries. In addition to the Art Department and adjacent faculty, we are delighted to announce that the 2020 Annual Student Art Show is juried by Madeline Gent, executive director of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh (AAP).
Use this Doane Prize entry form to submit a body of work.

There are no specific requirements as to how many works constitute a body, but generally, a Doane prize entry consists of a unified series of works linked by theme or subject matter. It is possible that a body could consist of only one or two large-scale, ambitious artworks. Only bodies of work are considered for Doane Prizes.

Use the exhibition entry form to submit individual artworks (you may submit more than one entry). All entries are eligible for a Juror’s prize. Entries must be received by midnight Eastern time on Thursday, March 26. Each artwork entered should be represented by between one and three uploaded images. The winners will be announced and the exhibition launched on Tuesday, March 31, the original time scheduled for the gallery opening. Should you have questions, direct them to Professor Paula Burleigh, available at pburleigh@allegheny.edu.
