The 2021 Allegheny College International Film Festival, sponsored by the Department of World Languages & Cultures, kicks off today, March 1, with “The Idol” (in Arabic with English subtitles). Each year, the faculty in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, and Spanish each select one exceptional film of recent vintage in their language and provide a pre-screening introduction for the viewing audience. In these very strange times we are delighted to partner with Kino Marquee to bring this free film festival to our campus and community in a virtual format.

HOW IT WORKS:
1. Go to this link
2. Register for a Kino Marquee account (or Log In if you already have one)
3. Choose your film, select “Watch Now” and click the blue “Redeem Pass” button
4. Enter the code ACIFFCAMPUS
5. Make some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the film!

Each Monday in March a new film in the series will premiere. Once premiered, all films will remain available for viewing until April 6.

This year’s lineup:
March 1: The Idol (Arabic)
March 8: A Great Wall (Chinese)
March 15: Tu dors Nicole (French)
March 22: Breathing (German)
March 29: Museo (Spanish)

Visit the festival site with the link above for complete information on the films, trailers, and of course the film introductions by our wonderful faculty! Enjoy the films.
