International Education invites you to an interactive dialogue “BurghMeetsWorld: Who is the vaccine for?” on Monday, April 19, at 6 p.m. EDT. BurghMeetsWorld is a series of public events that explores the intersections between global concerns and local issues. Through conversation with community leaders, we will learn about the current obstacles of vaccine distribution and education in Pittsburgh such as language access, vaccine gentrification, and medical mistrust. We will challenge ourselves to go beyond meeting the immediate needs of community health and vaccination by engaging with the systems, identities, and narratives that shape these obstacles. Together we will explore how these conversations connect to broader global discussions around global vaccine inequity and resource distribution.
