In partnership with the Crawford County K-12 Career Alliance and the Meadville Chamber of Commerce, Allegheny College welcomes approximately 750 8th-grade students from eleven participating schools across Crawford County for a career awareness fair from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Approximately 60 vendors representing various careers and educational pathways will be present in several locations: the Campus Center (ground-floor and second-floor mezzanine), the Wise Center (Blue Court #1), and Brooks Walk (an outdoor “Careers on Wheels” exhibit.). The event includes a self-guided walking tour through the heart of campus, with signs at various building locations that include QR codes that lead to basic information about the building and the career opportunities that reside within.
Participating students are provided a bagged lunch that will be available at Schultz Hall. Please note, the outdoor Careers on Wheels exhibit on Brooks Walk will include various public safety vehicles and outside news media may cover the event. Several vendors will remain on campus in the afternoon (1 to 4 p.m.) for a job and internship fair to showcase local opportunities to Allegheny students.
