The Zingale Big Idea Competition starts this Friday beginning at 9:30 am at the Campus Center. This year 38 students across 21 teams from six colleges – Allegheny College, Carnegie Mellon University, Duquesne University, Grove City College, Geneva College and Westminster College – will compete for $30,000 in prize money!
Exciting news for 2024! The contest finals are set to happen at the Allegheny Lab for Innovation & Creativity (ALIC@Bessemer). This unique space, a blend of business incubator, training site, classroom, and research lab, aims to inspire Zingale participants while promoting regional innovation and economic growth.
You can go! Have you every wondered what it’s like to compete? Maybe you’d like to know what kinds of businesses the students are proposing — if yes, come to the Campus Center on Friday, April 26, rooms 301,302, and 303 from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm to observe the competition.
About the competition: The Zingale Big Idea Competition focuses on seed-level new business ideas. This contest emulates the experiences seen on the popular CNBC broadcast, Shark Tank, but with a heart. Unlike Shark Tank, the Zingale Big Idea distinguished panel of judges do more than evaluate business models – they offer constructive feedback, coaching and encouragement. Learn more here
