Your registration time in the Registration Schedule is determined by your Letter Group and Registration Class.
Letter Group and Registration Class
Your specific date and time to preregister for classes is determined by the letter group that you were assigned to when you entered Allegheny and by the class you belong to for registration purposes. Please note that your registration class is determined by the number of credits you have earned, plus the number of credits currently in progress, not by when you entered Allegheny – you may think of yourself as a “sophomore” because you are in your second year but have enough credits to register as a “junior.”
A student is considered to be a first-year student from the date of matriculation until the semester following completion of the 28th semester hour, when the student becomes a sophomore. A student becomes a junior in the semester following completion of the 60th semester hour, and a senior in the semester following completion of the 92nd semester hour.
To find your Letter Group and Registration Class, log on to Self-Service and click on My Profile under Academic Profile. On the third line down (the first one with boxes) you will see your registration Letter Group followed by your Registration Class.
