Allegheny has two types of “articulation agreement” with other academic institutions:
1. Off-campus study (including study abroad): students in Allegheny-sponsored programs are charged Allegheny costs, and Allegheny financial aid (except work-study) can be applied to program costs. Allegheny programs for study away have been established in fourteen countries as well as at the Duke Marine Lab in North Carolina, Woods Hole Biological Lab in Massachusetts, and American University in Washington, D.C. 2. Cooperative programs (3-2 programs etc.): these programs enable students to acquire a solid liberal arts background while accelerating their progress toward professional training and certification. Allegheny has articulation agreements with institutions providing certification in three areas:
