SPAN 591, “Group Study in Spanish Translation”Are you bilingual English/Spanish? Have you studied Spanish and translation? “The Geography of Me” is an international correspondence project seeking to understand the relationship between place and self. In collaboration with Professor Ben Haywood’s FS 101 class and Professor Barbara Riess, students will help to connect Allegheny students to community members in Mexico through a study of specific “pitfalls” of translation and by translating letters into Spanish. Prerequisites are SPAN 315 or 405 or permission of the instructors. This is a 2-credit group-study. Please contact briess@allegheny.edu if interested.
