Adding and Dropping Classes
Continuing students: WebAdvisor will remain open to Add or Drop unrestricted Fall classes until 4 PM on Friday, June 26. For courses that require instructor permission (signature courses, closed courses, etc.), please use an Add card when you return to campus in the Fall.
For Fall, please note that the Drop deadline has changed. Only classes dropped by the end of the first two weeks of the semester will not appear on your transcript. The Drop deadline for Fall 2015 is Monday, September 7.
After the first two weeks have passed, you have the option of taking a student-initiated withdrawal from a maximum of one course per semester (four courses total in your time at Allegheny). If you opt to take a student-initiated withdrawal, the course will be designated by a grade of “X” on your transcript, but the course will have no effect on your GPA. Student-initiated withdrawals may be taken through the first nine weeks of the semester (for 14-week courses; first four weeks for 7-week courses). Cards for this purpose are available in the Registrar’s office and must be signed by both the instructor and your advisor as an indication that you have informed them of your decision. The Fall 2015 deadline for a student-initiated withdrawal is Thursday, October 29.
Entering First-Year students: you will register for classes during the weeks of July 13-17 and July 20-24. The Learning Commons will contact you to let you know your registration day and to set up a specific time on that day for you to consult with a registration advisor and select classes.
