Summary of Curriculum Committee Actions


The following Curriculum Committee actions require two readings at a Faculty Meeting and a Faculty vote.


Courses

  • New courses with permanent course numbers
  • New FS 201 courses
  • Repeated Special Topics Courses (third or subsequent iterations)
  • EL Seminars that have permanent course numbers

Programs & Rubrics

  • New major and minor programs
  • New program rubrics (not necessarily associated with a major/minor, e.g., GTWY)
  • Substantial revisions to major/minor requirements that include a significant change in requirements and/or new courses

Agreements

  • New co-operative (3 plus) agreements
  • New sponsored study away programs or courses

Other Significant Changes

  • e.g., Major/minor definitions; schedule grid; academic calendar, institutional learning outcomes, graduation requirements, distribution requirements, etc.

The following Curriculum Committee actions are effective upon vote of the Committee and are presented to the Faculty for their information.


Courses

  • Course deletions
  • Course revisions
  • EL Seminars that are sections of existing courses (e.g., EXL 594)
  • New and revised sections of FS 101, FS 102, or FS 201)
  • New and revised special topics courses, including second iterations
  • New short courses

Programs & Rubrics

  • Relatively minor changes to major/minor requirements, such as substituting elective courses
  • Deletion of major/minor programs

Agreements

  • New preferred admission (4 plus) agreements
  • New community college articulation agreements
