New Short Course on Climate Change

Visiting Scholar Dr. Claudio Piani from the Department of Environmental Science at the American University of Paris will teach a one-week short course on climate modeling & climate change from March 2-6. The class will meet every evening for two hours on five consecutive days. Students should have taken at least one previous class in Environmental Science or Geology; please contact Professor Pallant in the Environmental Science department for more information or to register.

Course Description: ENVSC 290 Climate Change, Climate Modeling

An introduction to climate change and climate modeling. Topics include how global warming works; observations of global warming; and what we know and don’t know about the future of the earth’s climate. We also examine climate models, including applications of impact models and bias correction.
