“Chamber Chatter”
Meadville/Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce
The Meadville-Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce’s Mission is to serve the Meadville community in order to facilitate its existence and growth. The Chamber works collectively for the community in the areas of economic, social, educational, and political development in order to enhance the overall quality of life. While working with Program Director Karen Staudt, assistant to the President/CEO, Julia took a lead roll in the production and printing of the Chamber’s in-house monthly newsletter, The Chamber Chatter. Julia helped to collect and organize the newsletter materials, interviewed Chamber members, typed and edited other submitted articles and worked on design and format. Additionally, Julia assisted the chamber in many of their events, including a Golf Tournament, Business After Hours and Breakfast of Champions.
Julia recognized the fact that the Chamber has few staff members and she was pleased to be able to take some of the workload. She was able to take on the Newsletter project, which requires a great deal of time, and has allowed other staff members to concentrate on event planning and adding value to Chamber membership. Karen says Julia is a responsible, hard working student and has been a great help to their agency.
Julia is from Cranberry Township, PA. She is going into sophomore year at Allegheny College. She plans to double-major in Psychology and Neuroscience.
